All of our staff members are delighted and honored to serve as the pet hospital of choice for cherished family pets from Watsonville to Scotts Valley, Boulder Creek to Aptos, Corralitos to Santa Cruz, Ben Lomond to Prunedale and the Soquel/Capitola areas of Santa Cruz County.

We understand the special role that your pet plays in your family, and we are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. We practice the highest quality veterinary medicine and small animal surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education. Our entire healthcare team is committed to providing personal attention to the unique concerns of each individual pet owner.

Here at Aptos-Creekside Pet Hospital, we strive to offer not only sound advice but optimal veterinary care as well, thus allowing you the enjoyment of your companion for a maximum number of years. Green Certified

Here at Aptos-Creekside Pet Hospital, we have been focusing on changing the way we look at how we impact the environment as a business. On our journey to becoming a green certified business, we have made many positive changes toward our goal of minimizing this impact. As a medical facility, it is important to follow health, safety, and environmental regulations to keep both the staff and the environment as healthy as possible. To properly achieve our goal of being an earth-conscious business, we successfully obtained a green business certification.

Hooray! Now we want to share some of what we have done to achieve this goal...

  • We have recently upgraded to a new digital x-ray machine, which not only reduces the amount of chemicals it takes to develop film, but reduces the amount of radiation produced and gives a much better quality picture for improved diagnostic ability. This also means less film/paper waste and the ability to email radiographs to other hospitals or specialists.
  • We have improved our recycling system so cans are clearly labeled and plastic bags get properly recycled. We have a thorough list of what is recyclable and what is not posted for all to see. We have also trained all staff on the importance of recycling and how to do it properly.
  • We are now purchasing 100% recycled content paper towels and toilet paper and 50% recycled paper reams, along with trash bags that meet the green certification requirements (HDPE).
  • We are currently upgrading our computer systems with the goal of eventually going paperless with our records and client charts.
  • With upgrading the computer systems, we added new Energy Star rated monitors and are working on replacing other office equipment as needed to Energy Star.
  • We have recently installed a new heating and cooling system that is designed to be more efficient.
  • We are encouraging our clients to receive their invoices via email to reduce paper waste.
  • We have set up a system of saving used paper so that it can be reused before it is recycled and double side whenever possible.
  • We have set up staff email accounts so that all of our internal communication is sent via email instead of printing hard copies.
  • We have been contacting solicitors that send us junk mail via fax or postal service so that they no longer send them, reducing paper waste.
  • We are only giving out bags by request. We are encouraging our clients to bring their own bags or using paper bags instead of plastic.
  • We re-sterilize non-contaminated syringes to reuse for dosing out medications to clients.
  • We have replaced any incandescent light bulbs with CFL bulbs.
